5 ways to stay happy

Every now and then, you are bogged down and don’t feel like doing anything.  Here are ways to stay happy.

1. Hang out with friends and family

You will be surprised the effect your friends and family have on you.  I know when I hang out with my friends and family, I am always in a happy mood.

2. Keep yourself busy

When you are always doing something, you always seem to be in a better mood than just sitting around and having that blank stare.

3. Watch something funny

The best place to find funny videos is of course, the one and only Youtube.  I am sure there are other websites but Youtube is my favorite. One of my favorites is this Japanese Show.

4.  Exercise

Doing any sort of exercise changes people’s attitude.  I love sports, therefore I play basketball when I am bored.  Another exercise is swimming for me.  Maybe it’s because I love water :)

5.  Smile :)

While reading this post, just smile! You will be surprised what that can do to your body! I am currently smiling while writing this and my attitude has changed. Try it out.

I am sure there are other ways out there to stay happy.  Which ways do you use to stay happy?

1 Egg & 2 Cell Phones

I got the following email and wanted to pass it on:

1 Egg & 2 Cell Phones

65 minutes of connection between mobiles

We assembled something as per image:

FunAndFunOnly (www.mails4u.net.tc) - SridhaR

Initiated the call between the two cell phones and allowed 65 minutes approximately…

During the first 15 minutes nothing happened;

25 minutes later the egg started getting hot;

45 minutes later the egg is hot;

65 minutes later the egg is cooked

FunAndFunOnly (www.mails4u.net.tc) - SridhaR

Conclusion: The immediate radiation of the cell phones has the potential to modify the proteins of the egg. Imagine what it can do with the proteins of your brains when you do long calls.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there.  Hope you and your family share some great times together.  I am not sure what you’re doing tomorrow but here’s my schedule:

Parade: The Detroit Thanksgiving parade will be coming on in the morning from  8 am to noon.  I will be catching a glimpse of that and once that is done, it is time for some FOOTBALL!!

Football: The Detroit Lions will be playing the Green Bay Packers.  The game starts at 12:30 pm.  After the game, I will go relax with friends.  We are either going to go bowling or watch a movie.

How are you planning out your Thanksgiving holiday?

Knowledge is power

Most people know this but don’t fully take advantage of it.  If everyone in the world, read at least one book a month, the world would be a better person.  The sad part is that nobody actually does that.  The ones that do read often are the ones that look at life in a different way.

When I was reading about the cyclone that hit in Bangladesh, it made me realize how the world will change for the ones that passed away.  I guarantee 90 % of the people don’t even know that the cyclone even happened.  Everyone is too busy consumed in their own things.  Everything is about themselves.

If everyone took 5 minutes out of their day to see what is happening in the world, they would realize how truly lucky they are.  It just gets frustrating when people are bitching about the fact that they are not getting by on a daily basis.  The last thing I would like to say is get yourself out of your comfort zone and learn something new.  Whether that be learning a new language or some interesting facts.

Here’s an interesting fact: In Michigan, a woman isn’t allowed to cut her own hair without her husband’s permission.  I don’t know if that is an interesting fact or a messed up fact/law.

Slow Dance Poem

A friend of mine forwarded me this email.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.
Ever told your child, we’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time to call and say,”Hi”

You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift….thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

My heart goes out to the ill girl and her family. As you can see, life is too short and you should enjoy it to the fullest. This girl will not be able to graduate from high school or get married because she has only 6 months to live.

Be happy with what you have

Anywhere you go, you will find people that aren’t content with what they have. They either want a bigger house or a better car and so on. What people don’t realize is that you should be thankful with the stuff you have. There are people out there that don’t have running water or even food to eat on a daily basis and we are worried about not having a big enough house! It is pretty sad but that’s reality.

One way you can be happy with what you have is to take a trip to a third world country where people don’t have running water, food or even a roof under their head. Once you realize that, you will definitely realize that you should be happy with what you have.

Thank and listen to your parents!

I know everyone takes their parents for granted but parents are the whole reason we are here to begin with! Not only that, without them we would be where we are if it wasn’t for them. I know personally I don’t thank my parents enough. Just a simple thanks for the great food mom or thanks pops for everything means a lot to the parents than you think. I am only 23 years old so I don’t really know how it is to be a parent but I know when we’re in their shoes, we would want our kids to appreciate us as well. I can go on and on on why parents are so important but you guys get the main gist.

Whenever they yell at you, there is a reason. The reason is that they know you are better than that and they want you to go lead in that track. So next time your parents are saying to you, make sure you actually take the time to listen and who knows, it might be IMPORTANT!! At the end of the day, they have been in the world longer than us and that’s why they are more mature (IN MOST CASES) and wiser than us.
