What we can learn from NBA superstar Lebron James

If you are a basketball fan, you should know who Lebron James is. If you do not, something is wrong with you or you’re living in a rock. If you are not a basketball fan, you can click here for all the info.
So that you know who Lebron James is, let’s see what we can learn from him:
1. Stay true to your roots – Lebron James was born in Akron, Ohio. He currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers and he wants to stay there after his contract ends in 2010.
2. Don’t forget your homeboys and homegirls (slang for friends) – He could be friends with anyone but he stuck with his friends from school. Also, he could have had any girl for his girlfriend but he stuck with his high school sweetheart.
3. The man has poise – When he broke into the league, he was so poised for a 18 year old. Whenever he is interview, he always says the right things.
4. Hard worker - The reason he is one of the top 3 players (according to VikDulat.com) is all the hard work he does off the court. We just see the finished product. His ultimate goal is to win the NBA Championship. I have a strong feeling he will reach that goal.
5. Role model – There are millions of kids that look up to Lebron James. Why wouldn’t they? He is the American Dream and is a multi-millionaire at the age of 24.
You can apply # 4 to anything you do. Let’s take this blog as an example. More articles mean more exposure. More exposure leads to meeting new people and making a name for myself. HARD WORK WILL NEVER GO TO WASTE.

@ Aman That’s sweet man. I wish I could get a chance to meet him in the future.
That’s good that he’s not an arrogant guy and laid back. He just has that vibe about him. I have seen him talk to Jay Z and he is talking like he would be talking to his friends.

I think it is very important for young kids to have a role model. Lebron James is a good model except the fact that he has 2 kids and he is not even married.
That is not sending the right message.

Nikki has a good point, parents need to get involved and discuss with their child that not everyone in this world is perfect.
Its healthy to have mentors and idols, but there needs to be a person there to pull kids out of false reality.
Leaving a kid to just idolize a BBall star is the wrong path as these small things will be taken as “right” moves and maybe imitated by some that dont know better.
Personally from what I have witnessed, he seems to be a really calm, collected person unlike other NBA stars I have partied with. That is only one side I have seen tho.
With Jay-Z, from my understanding, they are really good friends to the point that LJ might even end up on the Nets once his contract expires due to Jay-Z’s stake in the team. I may be wrong, but its what I have heard.

Not everyone is perfect in this world. Just because Lebron James has 2 kids does not make him a bad person.
I can where Nikki and Aman are coming from. At the end of the day, our children grow up the way we raise them. We have to watch what we say and what we do at ALL times.

I just got done stomping on Washington and happened to talk to agent zero and we got to talking about blogging. Then we got crunk on sprite and got silly and he mentioned your blog and how you wanted to meet me and you are my number one fan. So I’m gonna make your christmas wish come true early. I’ve actually read somewhere you inherited a billion dollar airline, so maybe we can get in on a business venture and combine forces. It would be awesome.

i call you baby james b’cos seeing what you do on the court, the way you put smile into everybody face in the arena, make me conclude that you are the best b-baller and the best male athlete of my time(last two decade). ‘m just a medical student in ABU ZARIA who only put smile on his face by watching you do what you do best

having met LJ a couple of times now in Toronto, I gotta say he is really laid back which is another quality trait.
He is not arrogant like many other people in his industry and really humble about this accolades. good guy!
