11 keys to waking up early
Posted by: vikdulat on: November 17, 2008

These are ways that I have tried and have worked for me. I cannot guarantee they will work for you but it does not hurt to give them a try.
- Go to bed on time.
- Get enough sleep (you should get anywhere from 6-8 hours of sleep).
- Sleep in something comfortable (pajamas, not wearing anything at all; whatever work for you)
- Drink water before sleeping – Sometimes during the night, my mouth gets very dry and I end up waking up for a glass of water. Make sure you hydrate yourself.
- Have a comfortable pillow – I cannot sleep over at someone else’s house unless I have my own pillow or the pillow is very very soft (I like soft pillows. (this can vary from person to person). It takes a while to get used to the pillow.
- Exercise. Exercise. Exercise – When you exercise, you will feel tired and go to sleep earlier and thus wake up early.
- Set an alarm away from the bed – Make sure you have to get up in order to shut off the alarm. Once you’re up, you will be less likely to go back to sleep.
- Eat the right food – You do not want to eat foods that produce too much gas. Otherwise, you will be up all night passing gas
.
- Reading a book – I know when I am reading a book and I cannot keep my eyes open for more than 20 seconds, it is time to sleep.
- Set more than one alarm clock – The more sounds you hear, the more likely you will be likely to get up.
- Look forward to the next day – When you have know you have to do something fun or meet up with someone, you are so excited that you wake up earlier than usual. (For e.g. Christmas day)
